100-Meter Sprint training

Prepare for 100-Meter Sprint as one part of the continuous Combat Field Test (CFT) sequence.

Official Army guidance

Use the current event protocol and local test-control instructions for administration. The reference below describes the event; it is not a substitute for the official directive.

What it tests

Acceleration and the ability to change from running into loaded work.

Test setup

Move to the marked 100-meter sprint lane after the push-up event.

How it is performed

Complete 100 meters, then move to the next event after grader clearance.

What counts

Completion of the marked 100-meter distance.

Result recorded

Move to the next event after grader clearance.

Attempts / termination

No independent event score is recorded; event completion and sequence control the test.

Official guidance is controlling; ArmyFitHub training suggestions are editorial preparation guidance.

ArmyFitHub Training Guidance

Use these practice ideas to build repeatable movement quality. They do not change the Army test standard.

Coaching focus

Build acceleration mechanics and learn to transition immediately into the loaded events.

Useful practice

  • Wall-drive marches
  • 10–30 meter accelerations
  • Sprint-to-carry transitions

Progression

Keep sprint volume low and high quality, adding distance only when mechanics stay crisp.

Test-day transition

Accelerate smoothly, avoid a tense first step, and move directly into the next station.

Practice setup

  • Test-appropriate running shoes
  • Event equipment and test surface controlled by the unit
