2026 Army Waist-to-Height Ratio (WHtR) Calculator

Enter height and three waist measurements to calculate the Army-recorded WHtR. A result below 0.550 meets the standard; 0.550 or greater requires same-duty-day confirmation.

WHtR calculation

Calculate the recorded WHtR

Height is recorded to the nearest half inch and each waist reading is recorded down to the nearest half inch. The standard three-reading average is recorded to three decimals. If a fourth reading is required, the three readings with the least difference are averaged and recorded to the nearest half inch. Final WHtR is truncated to three decimals.
